One of the most exciting ways we can help share a story is found in building a primary work and Billy Stanley's new book promises even more exciting chapters to a life lived in the first family of Rock and Roll.
With billions of people on the planet, in 1960 there were only three little boys who would be affectionately called, "Brother" and they were Billy and his two brothers. These young boys would grow up feeling a "father's love" in the person of Elvis Presley toward them. It has been my honor to be walking on this journey together with Billy. We wanted to take a moment and share all of the accomplishments in this first year of putting this exciting film franchise into the market. These highlights represent just a few major milestones in pouring the foundation for a house to last for decades to come. NO DOUBT NO FEAR BOOK There are many amazing steps along the journey which have taken place, but none could have happened without Rick Stanley and Elvis Presley watching over every step. Billy's new book, NO DOUBT NO FEAR is now in full swing and Billy is putting together the first few chapters for this exciting book. Billy and I are working together to put an exciting book project together targeting the family and faith based audience. Investors are continually needed to pay for the screenwriting for the narrative feature film, so make this a priority. What an amazing month at Graceland. We had countless new stories, old stories and even more as we explored Graceland with both Billy and David Stanley together. I am especially excited that we had such an entourage at Graceland celebrating the birthday of the King of Rock and Roll and Billy Stanley.
David was so gracious to fly in from Florida and begin to share his world with us during the trip to Graceland and also in the home of Billy and Liz Stanley. What a blessing he is to open up to joining this crusade in putting a lot of reality to the greatest entertainer who ever lived. Prior to going to Graceland, we met with Billy Stallings, the Spa Guy to talk about authenticity, truth and hearing more wonderful stories of those Billy has had the good fortune to meet with regarding what happened behind the doors of Graceland. The documentary is already in process and we are interviewing the Stanley boys to get "their world view" of the faith of Elvis Presley. What a beautiful way to focus on the most important slice of his life, that is often overlooked and missed. Jennifer Willingham and Jag Gholson thank you for joining our film team as we traveled to Memphis, Tennessee. You all made the trip even more wonderful and Liz Stanley, your hospitality was amazing. In talking with Liz this week, she was never told about the fact Rick Stanley and I were so close since 1980. Rick was one of the finest and most educated evangelists from Southwestern Seminary who graduated after he surrendered his entire life to the ministry. His famous book, Touch of Two Kings and the numerous times he appeared on Larry King Live and network television was legendary. Rick passed away one year ago last month. This coming month, we will be meeting with film studios, talking with financiers and opening up our entire film slate where documentaries and feature films will be created. Oceania is excited to see a vision for Billy and David Stanley long term. Continue to pray for our team out on the West Coast and we will keep everyone updated in real time. God bless you all, Kevin McAfee Founder/Filmmaker Hello Elvis Fans,
I want to take a moment and give a big shout out to Billy Stanley! Billy is having a birthday this week and we are celebrating in style! Last week was of course Elvis Presley's birthday and in talking to Billy Stallings the Spa Guy, it sounded amazing. They were honored for a new bike that the Elvis Presley Estate filmed them about. Wow, it is awesome to see people coming together and six million listeners and growing is HUGE. Billy Stallings, you are a blessing to all Elvis fans. SPECIAL GUEST TO GRACELAND - BILLY LIZ & DAVID STANLEY - January 18, 2020 So in the spirit of celebrating birthday, we have a very special guest, David Stanley. He is flying in from Florida this week to have this special time celebrating with Billy! On Saturday, we will be at the Guest House at Graceland for lunch with the Stanley brothers and then, we will take another historic walk through site for the estate Elvis called home for so many years with his family. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY! Happy Birthday Billy! Because of you, we have the joy of working together on your new film project NO DOUBT NO FEAR, the Billy Stanley story. Also, because of you, David Stanley has come on board with your project and is working on BROKEN VESSELS, his powerful personal and emotional story. Wow, what a one-two punch for audiences and readers everywhere. MEET OUR FILM TEAM Jennifer Willingham, our new business partner at OCEANIA ENTERTAINMENT will be coming to Graceland with Jag Gholson from FINN CAPITAL ADVISORS to work on funding strategies and experiencing the place all of the Presley and Stanley families, called home, GRACELAND. This is an exciting time on January 18 in the afternoon, to be coming to Memphis. We personally want to invite everybody to visit the second most visited home behind the White House, Graceland in Memphis and see for yourself what millions of fans are talking about in the most powerful representation of the life of Elvis Presley anywhere on the planet. We look forward to being back in Memphis this weekend. No Doubt, No Fear, Kevin McAfee Filmmaker/Director 2020 is the year we will be completing the documentary film about the best selling author, Billy Stanley. Billy's story is powerful, moving and one of the most emotionally charged storied around the life of Elvis Presley. The highlights of this documentary include powerful stories from Billy and David Stanley. We will have exciting film clips from Rick during his ministry and so much more. Our audiences will be in for a real treat with some of the finest musicians in the world as a bonus.
What happened to Billy Stanley a few years ago was transforming. If you spend any time with him, his supernatural experience of when he suddenly died was amazing. Billy will share of his walk into the Halls of Heaven and you will not want to miss this story. After Rick passed away in January, one year ago from the week of Elvis Presley's birthday, my life changed. Rick and I had become friends three years after Elvis died. He had grown into one of my closest friends and while I could not attend and participate in speaking at my brother's funeral, I was with their family in spirit. The Stanley brothers have always been admired by our family. Their loyalty, their kindness and faith has inspired thousands across America and around the world. With Elvis being the most popular entertainer of all time, these men were behind the scenes and so very supportive of a man who treated them like blood. Elvis didn't see any difference in using the term "step brother" and he believed once you are family, you remain family when it comes to "children". What a beautiful way to live. We have great news in hearing from David Stanley during December and he believes Billy's story was an area he would want to get behind. Our team is honored to have Billy's youngest brother join us in this endeavor. What is the most important part of this film, is knowing God is at the center of the entire documentary. Billy made it perfectly clear to me, "Kevin, we want to do this for God and for His glory. I don't want to focus on the negativity because this is what Elvis taught all us boys. What a great heritage we were blessed to share and this film is going to give all the glory to God." Very few people in the entertainment industry would say something like this. I have been so moved by Kenya West and his new focus on Jesus. When you meet Billy and David Stanley, you will find a group of very strong men whose personal stories are so powerful and moving. Please pray for the documentary, the writing of the screenplay and the financing partners as we begin to move our film slate to the forefront in 2020. The film partner is Oceania Entertainment and with our new partner Jennifer Willingham and MW Holdings, we are thrilled to be in the film production with the Stanley family. Taking Care Of Business, Dr. Kevin McAfee This month, the film team will be heading to Los Angeles and meeting with film studios and professionals about our new film. Our primary purpose will be in finding the right financier families who love Elvis Presley, see the vision of what we are doing for family based entertainment and come on board.
Leading our prayer effort is Billy Stanley, the oldest step-brother of the three Elvis would bring into his home in 1960. Billy and Liz met with the GRP film team and have been helping put materials together for this journey. Lynn McAfee has been developing a comprehensive business plan and we are now heading to market. What is amazing about this story, is that Billy Stanley has a unique perspective in that he grew up from 7 years of age when he moved into Graceland until the day Elvis died being treated as a "real brother" by the King of Rock and Roll. When Rick Stanley, the middle brother passed away in January of 2019, Billy and I connected and we have been working together to put this film into reality. We honor what the Elvis Presley Estate is doing to continue to improve Graceland and provide an amazing experience for Elvis fans. However, what Billy has in his own unique story is a "world unto itself". You see, Billy saw the real Elvis and Graceland was his home too. Part of the beautiful side of Elvis, was his true commitment to family and to his faith. No other film will address this issue more, than ours. If you would like to be on our prayer team, please contact info@goldenrulehq.com and we will be sure and place you in our prayer team. We are looking for 31 prayer warriors who believe in the power of prayer and loved Elvis. Now, more than ever, we are building an army, and this begins with prayer. Thank you for believing in us, for believing in the legacy of Elvis and for being willing to honor his faith commitment and family loyalty to the world. He was not just a rock and roll icon, but his gentle side of loving those who have gone through the pain of loss, the tragedy of divorce and the hope for those who needed hope, was paramount. Thank you for making this a priority and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at GRP FILMS. We love you Billy Stanley and the entire Stanley family. We love you Presley family and the entire Presley team with Christmas Blessings. Blessings, Kevin McAfee ![]() In the 17 years I spent with Elvis, he often talked about his Army days. Here's what he had to say about those days. Elvis served his country with pride, he wanted to show the world, he was just a normal guy. He could have asked for special treatment, but he didn't, that wasn't the type of person he was. During his stint in the Army, Elvis was treated like everyone else. When, he arrived in Germany, he rented a house and brought his family over. Which any soldier could do, if they had the money. Most of the stories Elvis told me, were of the patrols he had to do. It was his duty to sit on a hill, in his jeep, and watch a Russian soldier in his vehicle. Elvis said, every time he had to report for duty, he would wave to the Russian soldier. The Russian soldier never waved back. One time, Elvis was sitting in his jeep, it was very cold. He tried to walk around, but that didn't warm him up. Then he had an idea, he took his poncho out, he place it over himself and the jeep, then started the jeep. It didn't take long, before he warmed up. He was enjoying the warmth. The next thing he remembers, he was being shaken. A soldier was standing over him, saying. Pvt. Presley wake up! Wake up soldier! Elvis came to, he got up off the ground. The soldier asked him, what happened Pvt. Presley? Elvis told him what he had done. The soldier said, it's a good thing I came to check on you Private. You passed out from carbon monoxide poisoning. It's a miracle you're still alive, Pvt. Presley. When I got much older sometimes our conversations would be about why he was drafted. I asked, why did they draft you, Elvis? The Army was pretty much voluntary back then. He said, I guess the government thought I was a threat to the youth of our nation. They thought if they put me away for a few years, everyone would forget about me. I laughed when he told me this. He looked at me strangely, then asked. What's so funny about this, Billy. I said, their plan didn't work, did it. Then he smiled back, and said. I guess not. It did concern him though. When he came back home, after his stint in the Army, he wasn't sure what his career was going to be like, or if he even had one. That's why the movie contracts were signed, it guaranteed him, a milliom dollars a movie, 3 movies a year, for the next 7 years. In closing, Elvis was happy to serve his country. He was a good soldier, all of the guys in his unit and his commanding officers liked him. They even joked with him and said, if you can't make out there, you have a career waiting for you, here in the Army, Elvis. One of the most wonderful experiences in life is talking to someone who "really knows" what Elvis was like. Think about this for a moment, when Billy was seven in 1960 and moved into Graceland, he had no agenda, no impure motive and only had missed "family".
When Vernon and Dee picked up her three little boys, they were immediately wrapped up into the arms of the Elvis. When Elvis asked, "What do we have here daddy?" Vernon said, "These are our three boys!" From that moment on, the boys were always treated as family. Elvis literally never stopped his love or his dedication toward those three boys. Billy is one of the kindest men I have ever known. Do you know why he loves Elvis fans so much? Elvis loved his fans. He said, he would always follow the leadership of his famous brother. This is one of the hallmarks of true family too. Close to the final days of Elvis Presley's life, Vernon and Dee were going their separate ways. Elvis called Billy, Rick and David to his bedroom and the four brothers talked about their last seventeen years together. With a grin on their face and an embrace that ended up in wrestling, they all agreed they would always be there for each other. What is the most amazing story of the love of these brothers, was their loyalty and their faithfulness to talk about what was most important in their lives. Even though there were many stories always surrounding the fame of Elvis Presley, there was one consistent pattern, the word of God. Yes, the Bible was the most important book for all of them. When you would meet any of the Stanley brothers through the years, you would find the kindness, loyal and God fearing characteristics of true men of faith. The gospel was an integral part of the faith of Elvis Presley. During the past month, Billy and I began talking about the real stories of Elvis and over and over he said, "Kevin I want to make sure the fans of Elvis see the brother and man he was, because everyone has their own opinion, but we knew him as our brother". This is the hallmark of the film we are making and we have a new group of people who are showing interest in the future of the movie. If you want to be a part of making history, you will need to communicate to our film team at www.grpfilms.com soon. Thank you Billy for being the hallmark of truth you have been to all of us. Love you Brother, Kevin McAfee Founder/Filmmaker ![]() Everyone's read or heard something about this historical meeting, but you probably haven't heard what Elvis did, while he was there. He told me this little story, when he came home. When you arrive at the White House, if you are carrying a gun, you have to leave it with the Secret Service. They will return it to you, when you leave. Elvis handed them his guns. He said, I have to use the restroom. Can you show me where it is? One of the agents said, he'd happy to show Elvis where it was. They walked down the hallway, and entered the restroom. Elvis excused himself, then walked to a stall. As Elvis was un-doing his belt, his derringer fell to the floor. The agent heard this, then walked into the stall, and picked the gun up. He asked Elvis, what's this Mr. Presley? Elvis gave him a smile, then said. I'm sorry, I forgot about that one. The agent smiled back at Elvis, then politely said. Okay Mr. Presley, I'll hand this to the other agents. But, I have to ask, is there anymore I need to know about. Elvis smiled, then said. No sir, that's all of them. I'll like to officially welcome you to your new website. That's right I said, your website. Here's why I said that. This website was created for you, the Elvis fans. Our production staff is here for you, your thoughts and input are important to us. It is our goal to give you what you've always wanted, a good positive portrayal of Elvis' life.
Now, some of you may ask, why would we do this. Here's why. Because Elvis loved you, with all of his heart and soul. In the 17 years I spent with him I saw and experienced his love for you. People have said, Elvis was unlucky with love. That's not true. He had a love affair with you, his fans. You were always there for him and you never let him down. Elvis was never too busy for you, he always put you first, in his life. I picked up those feelings, I love you, like Elvis taught me too. I searched long and hard for a production crew, that would believe in my goals for this film. It wasn't as easy as you might think, but I found them. The people you read about, on your website, share my thoughts and goals. They love you, like I do. Now to some, that may sound corny. That's okay. But, for me to do justice with this movie I had to find the right people, with the same goal as mine. To give you the best movie ever done on Elvis. All the funny, light hearted, soul searching memories I've shared on Facebook will now come to life. You will get to know Elvis, as a brother. You will see and experience Elvis like never before. In closing, please feel free to comment, or tell us what you'd like to see or hear, in this movie. As I said, this is your website. Share it with your friends. You can even use it as tool, to help those that may not understand Elvis, and would like to get to know him a little better. We look forward to the days ahead, we appreciate all your love and support. We are here for you. We will even pray for you, if you'd like us to. Why would we do that? Because Elvis prayed for you... All the time. I'll see y' all next week, when I start sharing my memories of Elvis, here on your website. Have a great weekend, my friends!!! We love ya Billy Stanley This week begins another step in the creative process of working diligently toward the first draft of our film. The beat outline begins with Billy Stanley and the GRP Film team. Often it has been said that making a movie is like "watching paint dry" and to some degree, that is true. What we are about to undertake is a massive step by step operation, but before we talk about the screenplay, here is an update "behind the scenes".
PLANNING Lynn McAfee, Executive Producer has been working for the past couple months on the business plan, analytics and due-diligence regarding the proprietary nature of releasing the movie, ELVIS MY BROTHER. The McAfee & Associates Firm is providing due-diligence related to the focus of the film. What makes this movie different is the approach to family and this blog is dedicated to family. Steven Covey always said, "Start with the end in mind". We believe in the planning modules of this film, our market analysis is focusing on the power of planning, pinpointing the mission and understanding the analytics of the filmmaking process. Many film companies, like Legendary Pictures have been highly successful due to this process. We want to thank our Executive Producers for working to understand these important lessons in the "why for this film". GIVING TO THOSE IN NEED Our culture goes through many struggles in life. Some of these struggles are personal and they are very dear to our heart. Elvis Presley, in many ways lived a charmed life, but it did not start this way. He was one of the greatest entertainers that ever lived, one of the most benevolent men who gave lavish gifts to many and one who supported non-profits all of his life. In fact, at one time at Graceland there was an entire wall of checks that had been written to every non-profit you could imagine. The greatest gift he gave was to his own family. Elvis always wanted his parents, his step-brothers and eventually Priscilla and Lisa around him. Tragically, he too went through a divorce. However, he knew the importance of keeping family close and his devotion to his own "brothers" never wavered, even when times go tough. ALL MEN & WOMEN ARE EQUAL What made Elvis unique was his personal belief in all men being equal. Billy shared the other day Elvis was from a sharecropper background. Sharecroppers in Tupelo and in his day were African American people, so he always had a deep sense of loyalty to equality. This is why he was so distraught when Martin Luther King was assassinated in Memphis. If you worked for Elvis at the guard gate at Graceland, or were right next to him on the stage like the Sweet Inspirations, you were just as talented as he was, in his mind. He called those who worked with him and those closest to him "family". However, there were those who worked beside him that did not treat him like family, and this is what made the bond of family members so precious. Can you imagine as a young boy of seven years of age, being transported from a boarding school when you were left there at Christmas time, to driving through the gates of Graceland? Elvis prayed with his step-brothers, he put them to bed, would take them to play and the blood brother who was lost at child-birth was a new gift to his life. These Stanley boys he kept near to him until he passed away. Seventeen years of a Camelot existence was amazing, a place of wonder and yes, magical. THE ROLE OF FAITH The underpinning of this great entertain'er life was his true belief in Jesus Christ. Many feel somewhat uncomfortable about this, but his Bible was always by his side. He struggled like every man in life about philosophy and the different aspects of his faith, but he believed the gospel was the most important part of who he was. Yes, Elvis studied many religions, but make no mistake about his true faith, rooted in the Bible he grew up with and ingrained into his family's ancestry. His mother was a hallmark for his faith and he loved her dearly. A GOSPEL ALBUM Why would a rock and roll singer make a gospel album, win Grammy Awards for this category? He would share with his step-brothers all the time, the power of faith and family. This IS what will make our motion picture different. The faith of Elvis Presley changed the life of Billy Stanley forever. This was a truly amazing experience for three little boys who would grow up at Graceland. When you go to Graceland, make sure and stop at all the film monitors you will see and notice the three little Stanley children who were there as elementary children and grew up as middle schoolers when Elvis married Priscilla. You will see the hearts of three young boys who loved Elvis and he loved them. This is the spirit of everything we are doing with this blended family. THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST Did you know how Elvis began his relationship with his three step-brothers? The very first evening they met, he took all three boys and he kneeled down with them for their nightly prayers. This was never a custom for the Stanley boys, but Elvis wanted to instill the importance of prayer with them. Why do you think he did this? Elvis loved God and he wanted his new family members to know the very God he served. This was a hallmark of how the family would begin every meal and why prayer was always a sacred moment to talk to God they would never leave. Please pray for our team and especially for Billy Stanley in going through this process. We believe when you do something that truly matters in life, or make a movie with a purpose, there are many evil forces that would try to stop this kind of film. We do not wish to take away other filmmaker's dreams of making films about Elvis, because honestly, his life is full of motion pictures. We just need your prayerful help to undergird everything we are doing in prayer. Our film team believes in the story of Jesus, we believe He came to save the world by laying down His life for us. Billy shared recently that Elvis Presley's favorite verse was the gospel presented in John 3:16. The verse simply reads, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him will have everlasting life." Do you believe in Jesus Christ? We want to recommend you reach one chapter of the book of John every single day for a month. After you do this, please invite God to come into your life. Do you know we believe Elvis is in heaven today, not because he was perfect, but forgiven. RICK STANLEY'S FAITH Rick Stanley was one of the dearest friends in my life. After Elvis died, Rick began to follow Jesus and he gave his life over to becoming the very thing Elvis would have been most proud of, a minister of the gospel. He began to preach, to share his testimony of faith and with this, he shared with over 5000 churches in his lifetime, preached with Billy Graham on the same platform and was a tool in helping young people find God. Rick Stanley's spirit of faith, along with all of the Stanley brother's faith will be seen in this film of family and faith. Billy contacted me because he wanted to follow wishes that his family had discussed and because his recollection of Elvis and his life, Billy remembered conversations that Elvis had in so many situations, these will be the very words and concepts used in the screenplay. This film honors Elvis, but also will honor the spirit of the Stanley's as two world collided and became filled with an unconditional love. This film will honor Jesus Christ and will address real struggles but also have the joy, laughter and fun found in living with one of the most interesting men who ever lived. PRAYER TEAM Would you like to be involved in our movie? We need your help. Our GRP film team is looking to find a PRAYER TEAM who would stand by us as we make this film over the next couple years. Your prayers could make the difference. We are praying over every aspect of our film, our partners, our cast and crew. If you would be willing to pray, would you send an email to us and we are looking for thirty one prayer partners who will undergird this film. This means one prayer partner for every day of the week. Here is what we ask. You would spend one day a month, on a designated day like the "fourth of each month" and remember this project in prayer. If you will do this, please email us. God bless you, Dr. Kevin McAfee Filmmaker |
